Success at the Queensland Youth Music Awards

On Thursday night, the Chamber Choir and Year 7-9 Choir travelled to Brisbane to compete in the Queensland Youth Music Awards.

The Chamber Choir’s achievement of winning a Gold award and securing 2nd place in the Advanced Choral section is a testament to both their talent and dedication to choral singing.

Similarly, the Year 7-9 choir's triumph in not only earning a Gold award, but also taking 1st place and winning the Queensland Choral Award trophy, highlights these students’ exceptional performance skills.

These accolades reflect the dedication of the choirs, their director and accompanist and the support of their community, and mark a significant milestone in their musical journey.

Congratulations to all of the students and to their director Miss Newcombe and their accompanist Mrs Marquenie, for their outstanding achievements and for setting such a high standard in choral excellence.

We also extend our best wishes to members of the Year 7-9 Choir who are about to embark on their tour to Winton as part of our partnership with Opera Queensland. Enjoy your trip and we look forward to hearing about your adventures upon your return.
