Co-Curricular Sport

Brumbies Sport

A.B. Paterson College runs a comprehensive sports program that is designed to cater to the needs of every student, regardless of age or ability. Sports and Physical Activity are integral to the development of all young people, as they assist with learning key traits such as leadership, resilience, self-confidence, and self-discipline.

The College’s Sports program has three aims:
  1. Enhance the overall student experience
  2. Promote lifelong engagement in sports and physical activity
  3. Empower every student to reach their own personal excellence

The College’s Sports program includes:
  • Team Sport
  • Individual Performance Sport (Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics)
  • Representative Sport
  • Strength and Conditioning

Younger Years

In the younger development years (Prep to Year 3), students are able to develop their sporting skills, balance, and coordination under the guidance of our specialist teachers in the Physical Education program. Additionally, students will have access to introductory sporting programs which are run after school by external sporting organisations. These programs are fantastic at engaging our students at an early age in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Memberships

The College is a member of the Associated Private Schools (APS) and Hinterland District School Sport. These memberships benefit our students in Years 4-12, more information can be found in the relevant section.

Reward & Recognition

The College is passionate about recognising the achievements of our students.

In 2022, the College launched the inaugural Celebration of Sport Evening. The evening features guest speakers, fun games, and our major awards.

In addition, students can gain recognition through our Incentive Program, Achievement Badges, and Speech Night presentations.

Students are recognised informally throughout the year via social media, assemblies, and the newsletter.
